AOS works is a Los Angeles based architecture studio started by Alex Solbes in 2017. AOS works is firmly rooted in the belief that architecture is the art of crafting structures and spaces that engage the human spirit. Each project is carefully conceived based on the needs of the client, as well as environmental and site conditions. The thoughtful selection of materials and manipulation of light, space and texture also inform each design composition. Additionally, the integration of environmentally responsible materials and methods as well as the motivation to seek innovative design solutions impact the development of each project.
Alex Solbes, a licensed architect in California, graduated from California State Polytechnic University Pomona, in 1999. After completing his formal education, he worked at several noted architecture firms throughout the Los Angeles area before starting his own practice. Alex has been involved in the design and construction of numerous residential, commercial, institutional and hospitality based projects. He gained an important understanding of the construction process after working as an Assistant Superintendent for one of the most respected residential contractors in Los Angeles, making him well versed in not only the design aspect of architecture, but its practical application as well.
